Scott Ripley graduated from the US Naval Academy (BS, English) and served as a Bombardier/Navigator (A-6 Intruder) in Attack Squadron Thirty-five, aboard USS Nimitz and USS Roosevelt — resigning his commission to enter the Professional Actor Training Program at UC San Diego. After receiving his MFA (Acting) he joined the acting company of the American Repertory Theater for three seasons. He has worked on professional stages around the world, including at the Moscow Art Theater, Taiwan National Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, American Conservatory Theater, Portland Stage, and Cincinnati Playhouse. Most recently Scott was a leading actor for four seasons at PlayMakers Repertory Company. He has also done television, film, commercial, and voice-over work in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Amsterdam. In 2004 Scott began devoting most of his time to teaching and coaching young artists. Since then he has taught acting, directing, improvisation, and voice/movement at Arizona State University, Davidson College, Accademia dell’Arte, and most recently for four years in the Professional Actor Training Program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
