Michael Demers

Production Electrician

Michael Demers is the Production Electrician for the Connecticut Repertory Theatre at UCONN.  He has served as a technical adjudicator for the Connecticut Drama Association and designed the lighting for  UCONN Opera’s production of Gioachino Rossini’s comic opera, Il Barbiere di Siviglia.  For a 6 year period he traveled the world as the lighting designer for The Village People.  In the same time period, he was the lighting designer in the Cabaret Theater at Mohegan Sun for its opening year.   Intertwined thru the years he found himself working in corporate theatre for events such as Clinton Global Initiative, major auto shows around the USA, fashion week in NYC, and corporate meetings.  At Mohegan Sun Casino he lit shows and led installations for just under 10 years.  Michael is also fascinated with renewable energy sources and technologies in and outside the theater.
