Lindsay Cummings, Lindsay received her PhD from Cornell University in May 2011, where she also served for a year as a Lecturer in the John S. Knight Institute Writing Workshop. Her research focuses on affect theory, feminist performance, community-based performance, and theatre for social change. Her work on community-based performance in Appalachia has been published in Performance Research, and she has an essay in The Innovative Theatre of Naomi Wallace: Embodied Dialogues, forthcoming from Palgrave Macmillan. Cummings is also a dramaturg, and has worked in the literary and education departments at Portland Stage Company and Actors Theatre of Louisville. Her dramaturgical credits include The Bourgeois Gentleman (Cornell University) and Leaving Queens (Portland Stage Company). Most recently, she served as the dramaturg for a workshop of Oracle, a new play by Aoise Stratford, held at Cornell.
