Gino Costabile
Stage Properties Manager, Connecticut Repertory Theatre
Gino is a multifaceted theatre artist with deep roots in Connecticut. Originally from Fairfield County, he earned a BFA in Acting from UConn and an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. He next joined Actors Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers. While spending several years acting in regional theatres around the United States, Gino settled in Los Angeles and began writing screenplays, winning the Chelsea Film Festival’s Best Screenplay award for the film Penumbra, produced by Beleeve Entertainment. Gino’s teaching experience includes the Public Theatre’s summer Shakespeare program for students in NYC, and working as a teaching artist with Playhouse on Park which brought him back to Connecticut. His inventive work crafting props originated in productions where he was also acting, then took center stage when he joined the staff of Hartford Stage in 2015. As CRT’s Props Manager Gino hopes to help Dramatic Arts students build a working community that extends beyond the borders of the university into their professional lives together.
