The Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut offers intensive degree programs to prepare individuals for numerous careers in theatre. Our goal is to provide the finest professional training through classroom and studio instruction. Dramatic Arts faculty are all working professionals, active in the theatre industry. We also work regularly with guest artists, both in the classroom and on the stage, to further diversify student experience. To enrich classroom and studio training, students obtain professional-level production experience through participation in our theatre, the Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT). In addition, the University's physical location, close proximity to New York City, allows for an active interchange with many other exciting designers who live and work in the area.
Through a conservatory approach in a liberal arts setting, our students learn to perform and interpret in all aspects of theatre in a rich learning environment that provides a broad education and intense training.
