Kristen Moriarty is a working actor, voice and text coach, and director. As a teaching artist, Kristen works primarily with undergraduate collegiate students, emerging theatre professionals, and with professional actors continuing their training, mostly in the disciplines of Shakespeare, Voice, and Acting. Her teaching is rooted in encouraging actors to encounter and embody themselves fully while working from a place of professional rigor and curiosity.

After serving as Adjunct Professor in the fall of 2024, Kristen is thrilled to return to UConn’s Department of Dramatic Arts as Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice and Speech. Additional Teaching: Shakespeare & Company’s Center for Actor Training, Trinity College, University of Montana, Seattle University, University of Washington-Tacoma, San Jose State University, Adelphi University.

Kristen is an alumna of University of Montana (MFA, Acting), Adelphi University (BFA, Acting), and Shakespeare & Company’s Month-Long Intensive. She is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, the Voice and Speech Trainers’ Association, the Michael Chekhov Association, and the Kristin Linklater Voice Foundation where she is a Teacher Trainee pursuing designation.

Kristen lives in the Berkshires with her husband and their two daughters where she lives out her favorite roles of Wife and Mom. She finds creative inspiration in her daughters, who are also artists, and is inspired by the magical moment when people realize they already are brilliant, it just requires courage, vulnerability, and desire to let it be witnessed.
