Marie Percy
Assistant Professor in Residence (Performance)
Marie C. Percy is an Intimacy Director, Laban Certified Movement Analyst, Registered Yoga Teacher, Choreographer, and Movement Specialist. She is an Assistant Professor in Residence at the University of Connecticut where she teaches movement for actors in the BFA and MFA acting programs. She is the resident Intimacy Director and Movement Coach at Connecticut Repertory Theater and has worked at a variety of University and Regional theaters. Marie earned an MFA in Theater Pedagogy and Movement Direction from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BA in Theater from the University of Florida. She studied Laban Movement Analysis in depth at the Laban/Bartenieff Institute for Movement Studies, and is one of only a handful of professionals who have been certified as an Intimacy Director through Intimacy Directors International. In addition to her creative training, Marie was a nationally ranked competitive gymnast as a teenager and has extensive experience performing and coaching gymnastics and acrobatics. mariecpercy.com
