Michael Beschta

Assistant Professor of Technical Direction, Technical Director, Connecticut Repertory Theatre

Before working at UConn, Michael Beschta spent 15 years as the Assistant Technical Director at Hartford Stage. There he helped to draft and engineer almost 100 productions, including the world premieres of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Anastasia, and Rear Window. In 2018 he was awarded a career achievement award by the organization. In addition to his work at Hartford Stage, he has assisted in the mounting of shows at Goodspeed Opera House, Long Wharf Theatre, and Pilobolus Dance Company. He is excited to share the numerous mistakes he has made throughout his career with a younger generation of theatre artists so they can go on to make their own, more interesting mistakes.
