Susan Tolis – Costume Shop Supervisor
Susan, who is an alumni of our Puppet Arts and Costume Design programs has worked extensively in the
areas of costumes, puppetry, specialty props and masks for theater, dance, film and television companies
including Jim Henson Productions, Lincoln Center Theatre, Boston Ballet, Hartford Stage, NetWorks,
Disney and more. Along with supervising the Costume Shop for Connecticut Repertory Theatre
productions, she teaches graduate level courses in Costume Technology and Crafts as well as a Materials
and Techniques course in the Puppet Arts Graduate Certificate Program. Her teaching mission is to find
“Joy in the Journey” and she is thrilled to share her knowledge with students in all programs of the
Dramatic Arts Department, while also continuing to learn herself and grow as an artist along with them.
She has a love of art dolls and fantasy characters and in her free time enjoys sculpting and creating
