Theatre Studies Admission

BA in Theatre Studies Application Information:

The BA program requires a Theatre Studies Application submitted through Slideroom, and a brief interview. The application will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of members of Theatre Studies faculty. The Theatre Studies Application is due by Jan.15, but it is to your advantage to submit it possible. Details on what to include in your application are available when you click the Submit Slideroom Application button.

 

Slideroom Applications:

Please provide a short (500 word) essay explaining what draws you to the study of theatre and what areas of theatre you wish to explore as an undergraduate (ex. directing, playwriting, literary and historical study, stage management, dramaturgy, theatre management, etc.). You MUST submit these in Slidroom.

Students who wish to be considered for departmental scholarships (separate from University scholarships) should also upload a resume and up to three additional supporting items Those items might include samples of dramatic writing, stage management paperwork, production video or images, sample academic essays or other related items.

 

Interviews:

Interviews will last 20-25 minutes. They are a chance for us to learn more about you and for you to ask questions about the program. If you are unable to make any available interview times, please contact BA Area Head Lindsay Cummings to see if an alternate time can be arranged: lindsay.cummings@uconn.edu. To receive consideration for Fall 2024 admission, your interview must be completed by Jan. 24.
