Theatre Studies Admission

Admissions to the School of Fine Arts as a BA in Theatre Studies Major is a two-step process requiring both a Theatre Studies application as well as the submission of the University application through the Common Application. The Common Application can be obtained through the University of Connecticut Undergraduate Admissions Office.

Application Deadlines are as follows:

Priority Freshman Application: December 1, 2020 – Deadline for Merit Scholarship & Honors Consideration.

Freshman Application: January 15, 2021 – University Application/Common Application

It is best to submit your University application before coming to an audition, portfolio review or interview. Admission decisions to the University will not be made until Undergraduate Admissions receives results of your audition, portfolio review or interview.

Theatre Studies Application Process:

BA program in Theatre Studies requires a Theatre Studies Application though Slide Room which will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of members of Theatre Studies faculty.  It is to your advantage to submit a Theatre Studies Application as early as possible: Slideroom: https://uconnadmissions.slideroom.com

You are also required to complete an informal interview with the Theatre Studies Area Head.  Please reach out to Professor Cummings at Lindsay.Cummings@uconn.edu.

Theatre Studies Department Application:

There are a limited number of enrollment spaces available in this program each year. To become a BA Theatre Studies major you must (1) be admitted to the University of Connecticut (see above) AND (2) you must be recommended for the major by the Dramatic Arts Department.
